Harlem residents will soon have a new dentist in the neighborhood. Corey Black will be opening SmileSpace in Manhattan’s Harlem neighborhood sometime during the second quarter of 2023.

The 2,500-square-foot space, located at 40 W. 117th St., will aim to stimulate all five senses of patients, Black told the New York Business Journal. For example, there will be lights that mimic natural sunlight in the space as well as R&B music playing in the background. Patients will also be able to watch their favorite shows on Netflix on the ceiling TVs while getting their teeth cleaned as well as choose the type of water they want. The lease is for 10 years, and the asking rent was $45 per square foot. Tri State Commercial Realty’s Dov Bleich represented SmileSpace and L+M Development Partners, the landlord, on the deal. “Harlem has a huge lack of quality dental services, and there is no luxury dental providers over there,” Bleich said. “Dr. Black is committed to serving the local community and giving them an experience they deserve.”
