EA-Teriyaki to open its first New York City restaurant, eyes outer borough expansion

Japanese quick-service restaurant EA-Teriyaki has signed a 10-year lease to open its first New York City location in Queen’s Astoria neighborhood on Jan. 1, 2024.

The restaurant will be in a 2,000-square-foot ground-floor space located at 31–54 Steinway St. Four to five employees will work at the location.

In addition, EA-Teriyaki will use the entire second floor of the building as its office.

ViVi Bubble Tea previously occupied the space.

“This area has great foot traffic,” EA-Teriyaki’s broker Richard Babeck, managing director at Tri State Commercial Realty, said in an email statement. “It has lots of local businesses. This is a great concept that will give people a tasty and affordable option for lunch and dinner.”

EA-Teriyaki is a grab-and-go concept that offers lunch and dinner. Platters range between $12 and $15.

The Astoria location will be one of several planned in New York City for the restaurant.

“We will be looking in the Bronx, Manhattan and Brooklyn markets,” Babeck said. “We are targeting neighborhoods with heavy foot-trafficked retail corridors with a dense residential population, which also will allow us to capture the online order and delivery market as well.”

Asking rent for the Astoria space was $12,500 per month.

The landlord, ASJ Steinway LLC, was represented by B Square Realty’s Barbie Li.
