WOODstack inks a lease for retail space in Hello Flatbush!

Property Type: Street Retail
Total Space Rented: 7,500 RSF
Building Size: 48,000 SF
Complete Address: 1353-1357 Flatbush Ave, Brooklyn, NY 11210

The retailer combines quality “and the sophisticated aesthetic of wood, coupled with the street ambition to acquire more, also known as stacking” in the inspiration for their products. WOODstack‘s approach to fashion incorporates a heavy influence of inner-city culture while elevating streetwear retail.

Born in Brooklyn and established in 2011, the clothing store gives customers the close-knit vibes of a boutique store with its “groundbreaking community engagement.” With that in mind, the brand works with Angela Yee on Kickin’ It From The Stoop, a progressive and personal book club that discusses the brilliance, intellect and insane style of popular culture.

WOODstack is not limited to clothing, offering a variety of sneakers as well as accessories such as boots, hiking shoes, bags, and much more. This will be the sixth New York location for the retailer, totaling eight outposts. Tony Forte, the company’s partner, intends to add a lot of custom metal and woodwork in the Flatbush location.

Founder and CEO of Hello Living, Eli Karp expressed that the company is “thrilled to welcome an innovative and community-oriented merchant such as WOODstack to Hello Flatbush” as their first commercial retail tenant.

The excitement was also shared amongst Forte who commented, “Woodstock is truly excited about opening our sixth retail post in Brooklyn, where we introduced our first boutique back in 2011. This is an exciting time for our company, and the Flatbush location enables us to enter a retail corridor that offers our unique customer experience to the residents of Flatbush and Ditmas Park. Construction is currently underway and we look forward to opening this outpost in early April.”

Tri State Commercial’s agent Chandler Slate represented the tenant in this transaction while brokers Shlomi Bagdadi and Avi Akiva represented the landlord Hello Living. Slate believes the pair are a perfect match as both companies are seen as pioneers and have a clear vision of their brand.

“Since arriving in Brooklyn, WOODstack has quickly carved out a niche for themselves as a proud inner-city boutique anchored in incomparable community service and benchmark customer service. Shopping at WOODstack is an experience for locals and visitors alike, as the brands they offer carry an energetic vibe. Their story is one of the inner-city itself and each outpost represents the neighborhoods they enter in a very significant way. We are pleased to represent this incredible tenant and look forward to visiting the Flatbush location [once it’s opened],” said Shlomi Bagdadi.

The venue is located in Prospect-Lefferts Garden, steps away from the B8, B49 bus stop at Foster Ave/Flatbush Ave or the B41 at Flatbush Ave/Rogers Ave. Surrounding retailers include Dunkin’ Donuts, Island Burger, and the Residence Hall at Brooklyn College is merely one block away.
